The Year I was Clean

It wasn’t easy I could tell. The price you paid
I can’t imagine. You were a hurting man ready
to make a change. Life threw you down the steps
but they gave you a hand. They offered
the help and you took it one step at a time. Now
you have become clean; stayed that
way for a year now. Never go off the
path for you know what will happen.
Don’t look back because everything and
everyone that matters is right beside
you. You got a second chance at life.
Yeah, you lost some precious time but
you got your whole life ahead of you.
So go and make the best of it. Don’t
turn back because then you could fall

and go right back to step one.
